Day 3 of the 24 beer of Christmas lands me my first beer from D and G Brewing Company out of St. Charles, Illinois. Gingerbread Quad is a Belgian Quad infused with molasses and spices: cinnamon, allspice, ginger, clove, and nutmeg. Being honest, as soon as I saw the can with a list of spices on the front I knew I was in for it. Add being a Quadrupel into the mix and this beer just becomes a rocky ride at best.
Unfortunately, Gingerbread Quad does nothing to redeem itself. This beer is sweet with an “in your face” amount of spice. The underlying beer is completely lost. I couldn’t tell you if D and G brewing makes a good Quadrupel or not. I can tell you that their Gingerbread Quad beer does not agree with my senses. Enjoy!

It is now beermas season, only 21 days to go.
