Day 16 of the 24 beer of Christmas is Gled Tae Meet Ye, My Name Is Nut Brown, a English Brown Ale, from Miskatonic Brewing Company in Darien, Illinois. Sometimes I find myself being a a visual critic. I don’t have any reason to be or credibility to do so. That aside, I can really be judgmental, more mentally, about the way something looks, creating an opinion about something before I ever give it a real chance.

Such is the case with Gled Tae Meet Ye, My Name Is Nut Brown. The design on the can wasn’t festive, as many of the beers have been, and it was drab, looking like a name tag with a poorly drown branch wrapped around it. Maybe that was the intention but my mind was made up: this beer wasn’t going to be good. Gled Tae Meet Ye, My Name Is Nut Brown was good just not great and definitely not a style I would expect.
