Two regular dudes who happen to be huge fans of American craft beer.

This is the second time this week that I had an American craft beer that finished off beer from a past event. Scotch Ale by Brau Brothers Brewing Company was picked up when I was at Darkness Day in 2010. It is the last beer of the group I purchased from that event that I had yet to review, outside of Darkness itself.
Based on the three other offerings I have had from Brau Brothers, I would put their beers at a bit better than average with caution. Why caution? The beer store that I visited while in Minnesota raved about Rubus Black Blackberry Imperial Porter. If memory serves me correct this was a 750ml bottle and I wanted to share it with friends, so I opened it at a get together. The bottle was infected, the cap shot off, and beer actually made it onto the ceiling among other places. Not really the way I wanted to make an impression.
I guess I headed into Scotch Ale a bit gingerly because that was the last of the Brau Brothers’ beers I had tasted. Scotch Ale turned out to be a quality offering and I have thought I trying to persuade the wife back up to Minnesota this summer. Yeah, good luck. Enjoy!
