Tyranena Headless Man Amber Alt

Baaaack in the saddle again. Getting over the cold and ready to keep going with more American craft beer. I think the senses are somewhat on the road back to respectability. I can’t wait to dig into another beer, possibly my first in a few days that I can really relish.

Headless Man Amber Alt by Tyranena Brewing Company is one of the few Altbiers that I have had. A malt forward style of German beer that should be light, yet full of delicate malts.

Tyranena has really caught my eye over the past two years, continually looking for their next release in the “Brewers gone Wild!” (BGW) series. BGW is a series of beers in which they make one offs, sometimes they sell so well and/or are liked so much, they become a cult favorite and they brew them again. I beleive such is the case with Scurvy. I thought I saw it or another (Hop Whore) on shelves this year but without the BGW label.

No matter, they are producing some quality beers that keep bringing me back for more. If you have the means, I would recommend just about any of their beers. You can’t go wrong. Enjoy!

Useless Fact: The Mandarin orange is sometimes known as a ‘Christmas Orange’, as its peak season is December and children would often receive one in their Christmas stockings.
