Dark Horse One Oatmeal Stout Ale

Lately the American craft beers that I placed in my cellar some 16 months or more have turned up to not be suited for cellaring. Some worn that suit so well they have become contaminated by a bad crown. Good intentions gone bad. Needless to say, I am surprised when one of these beers tastes good.

It is with happy fingers I type these words that One Oatmeal Stout Ale by Dark Horse Brewing Company was one beer that should of been cellared and, by being cellared, taste fantastic.

The aroma was outstanding with subtleties of dark malt, licorice, chocolate, dark fruits, and sweetness. Each helped to tantalizing pull the next sense in: taste. Falling off only slightly here, each of the scents come through with an aid from peat.

Two years in the bottle didn’t hurt One Oatmeal Stout Ale one bit. Enjoy!
