San Tan HopShock IPA

There are certain states that are synonymous with American craft beer. From there, like everything in life, there are varying degrees of American craft beer awesomeness. Arizona is one of those states that I have a hard time putting in the team photo of great beer states. No offense is meant here at all. I have had a few beers from Arizona with mixed reviews at best. A colleague of mine brought some beers back with him while there recently on a vacation.

Beer number 281 is HopShock IPA by San Tan Brewing Company. HopShock is an American IPA that has a nice west coast twist to it. Huge doses of citrus and pine, the stereotypical west coast hop profile, come through, overloading the senses, crushing them in it’s hands. Body is a bit thin but there is enough carbonation to pick that up.

Another trip back to Arizona is in the cards for my colleague later this year, I already know what I will be requesting. Enjoy!
