Grand Canyon American Pilsner

If someone asked me favorite style of craft beer, it would be a long way away from pilsner. Since I limit myself to American craft beer I could also be restraining myself from many foreign examples of the style. I know that brewing a quality pils isn’t easy as there is very little to “hide” any off flavors, aromas, etc that could be mistakes from the brewing process.

American Pilsner by Grand Canyon Brewing Company is one damn easy to drink beer. I thought there were traces of adjuncts in the aroma and taste that detracted from this beer. I am probably wrong but that goes to the fact that little mistakes are tough to hide. The usual suspects for the style are there but that don’t come across strong enough. An average or better offering that I would have again but I wan to try more in the style too. Enjoy!

Aroma: 6 (25%), Taste: 7 (25%), Look: 9 (15%), Drinkability: 8 (35%), Overall: 7.4

Useless Fact: The first telephone book ever issued contained only fifty names. It was published in New Haven, Connecticut, by the new Haven District Telephone Company in February, 1878.
