Black Diamond Brewing Company Rampage Imperial IPA (365 Day 276)

Black Diamond Rampage Imperial IPA

Pizza on a Friday evening after a long work week seems to be a perfect. Having an American craft beer while eating said pie only makes the scenario even tastier. In doing so I broke my almost week long hiatus from IPAs and had Rampage Imperial IPA by Black Diamond Brewing Company.

Rampage is an American Imperial IPA that is your stereotypical west coast IPA: resinous, citrus, and pine all tickle the senses while pale and caramel malts mildly let you know they form the backbone on which the hops find residence. Bitterness hangs on in the finish and it definitely doesn’t let go but this is fine with me. Since I never heard of this beer or brewery before, I might call it a diamond in the rough. Enjoy!

Useless Fact: The sound heard by a listener when holding a seashell to his ear does not come from the shell itself. It is the echo of the blood pulsing in the listener’s own ear.
