Flossmoor Bourbon Barrel Aged Hi-Fi Rye

It only took 100 days, but I am at beer 100 in my quest for 365 different American craft beers in 365 days. Not that it was planned, but it was nice that it landed on a Thursday when Rich, Chuck, and Steve were there so that I could choose from the selection of beers we shared.

It didn’t take long for me to decide that the second beer of the evening, Bourbon Barrel Aged Hi-Fi Rye by Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery, would go down in history as beer number 100 😉

Before we had the Bourbon aged version, we tried Hi-Fi Rye, as we wanted to be able to compare the two beers to each. They were both outstanding but the subtle bourbon barrel aging added just takes this beer over the top and puts into the outstanding category.

I don’t know if they brewed this beer a second time or just had it cellaring, but the second release was much larger than the first, but still limited. If you have the means to get either version, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!
