Another day another American craft beer from Wisconsin. This time, Hopperbolic, a beer produced by Furthermore Beer. I beginning to think it might be possible to do another round of 365 beers based on a single state, such as Wisconsin, Colorado, or California. That would create a very unique set of circumstances. Damnit, now I have to go get this idea trademark like Pat Riley did threepeat.
Furthermore is another up and comer in Wisconsin that is really small. I tried to visit their operation two years ago on a family trip, but, after talking to one of the owners several times, who shared his timed nicely, they were brewing off premise and, obviously, didn’t have a brewery of their own to show off.
I haven’t tried to get a hold of them since but I know at they time they were getting close to getting their own brewing equipment. Have to make a note to myself to find out what their current state of affair are. Amazing how time flies.
Hopperbolic is an American IPA that lives up to the standard with fruity and citrus hops on the nose and in the mouth, while adding some complexity that is lead by spiced hops in the end that leave a lingering bitterness. I would say that the spice is small enough in character to not detract from its drinkability. Speaking of the drinkability, I had 3/4 of this glass down in a matter of minutes which leads me to believe I need to raise that score. Enjoy!
Aroma: 9, Taste: 8, Look: 9, Drinkability: 7, Overall: 8.1
Useless Fact: The only 2 days of the year in which there are no professional sports games (MLB, NBA, NHL, or NFL) are the day before and the day after the Major League All-Star Game.
