Flossmoor Hi-Fi Rye Released

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Flossmoor Station Restaurant & Brewery released their Hi-Fi Rye beer this past Saturday with a noon kick off release. The beer is made with 60% rye malt that induces a nice 11% alcohol and is considered an American Barleywine.

Unfortunately I was out of town for the release so I had to ask my Mom to take the drive over and pick me up some. She picks up their IPA releases for me when I can’t get out there, so I thought what the heck ๐Ÿ™‚ Well, she picked me up three bombers. She gained some major browny points with me over it ๐Ÿ˜‰

The beer is packaged in a psychedelic retro 60s style label that has a meter that goes to 11. If I have to explain that one to you, shame on you. Enjoy!

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Half Acre is releasing a short run beer for the Irish in you named Lil’ Davey Totes. The beer will only be available in growlers at the brewery with the short run dry Irish stout probably not lasing long based on small production.

From their blog:

Barreling through the fog came Lil’ Davey Totes.

Lil’ Davey Totes is a 4% dry irish stout ideal for the festivities at hand.
This is a draft only beer available for growler pours at the brewery. It was a small batch that should only last through St. Patrick’s day.

I wonder how tired my wife gets of me talking about beer all the time. Enjoy!

Upland Brewing Company has announced that they will be releasing Infinite Wisdom Tripel on Saturday, March 27th at Jake’s Nightclub in Bloomington, IN. Flossmoor To Release High-Fi Rye Wine

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Flossmoor Station announced that it will be releasing High-Fi Rye Wine on February 20th at 12:00pm at their brewery. It is one of those when it is out it is out type of releases. From Bryan Shimkos, the brewer, on the blog:

Hi-Fi is an 11% ABV beer similar to a barleywine, only most nike kobe 9 of this beer’s grain bill was rye. 58% rye in fact. We added a very minute touch of caraway seed for a little more of the “rye bread” flavor. Hopped to balance the huge malt character with pacific northwest hops, this beer has been aging in stainless for the last three months to allow this beer to mellow and mature. This will be a limited release, so we will have a bottle limit set after the total number of cases are counted.

They have also tapped a new stout: Bourbon McElroy — Bourbon Imperial Stout (10.5%). They only use the best bourbon, so I am sure this one will be delicious. Enjoy!

With March right around the corner, we all know what that means: Founders KBS release. We all anticipate it, we all thoroughly enjoy it, and we all hope to get our hands on some. The rumor has it that this will be released at Founders on Saturday, March 13th. Of course I believe no one unless I here it directly from the source, so I emailed Founders. Each year, Founders KBS is released to the marketplace on the Ides of March (15th). nike lebron 11 Here at the brewery, we host a release day on the closest Saturday to the Ides. This year, that magical day falls on March 13th.

FFF Dark Lord Day

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Exactly two months from today!!!! Nothing all that great, in terms of this post, but it is getting closer and the anticipation continues to grow. Follow the updates for Dark Lord Day 2010 on Three Flyods dedicated site: http://www.darklordday.com. They will be announcing golden tickets sales via twitter first. Capital Brewery Bockfest

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Capital Brewery will be hosting Bockfest on Saturday, February 27th, 2010, some eight days away. Based on their newsletter it seems that plenty is in store:

The only problem I see here is that I cannot find anymore information on their site about it. Oops. ๐Ÿ™‚

Capital will also be releasing a new lager beer come April: Supper Club. What is it you say?

Wisconsin has a strong tradition of Supper Clubs, something that Kirby has enjoyed his whole life. In honor of that tradition, he created Supper Club Lager, an American Style Lager (ABV 4.9%) that has (in Kirby’s words) been “Wisconsified”.

Brew club meeting time. Have a good and safe weekend. Enjoy!

Short’s Brewing Special Beer Reimbursement

Friday, February 12th, 2010

I had three of these guys back about a month ago that were, unfortunately, just not up to what I have come to expect from the good beers of Short's

Sometimes you open a beer and expect so much from the liquid goodness of American craft beer, that we don’t even think about the chances of getting a bad bottle. Well it seems that people have been getting some bad bottles of Short’s Brewing Company, especially their special series beers. air max 90 femmes Short’s has recognized the problem and stepped up to the plate in a very big way as they are offering refunds. From their site:

So if you have any โ€œweirdโ€ or โ€œoffโ€ bottles please email cs [at] shortsbrewing [dot] com and include the following:

  • How many Bottles were affected and of what brands?
  • Name and Address
  • Preference of
    • $3.40 per bottle gift certificate to pub
    • $2.50 per bottle refund
    • An Exchange Certificate for another six pack which can only be done at the brewery.

In my book that is huge. Hats off to Short’s for being big enough to man up to the problem and reiterating their pledge to top quality American carft beers while keeping their customers in mind. Enjoy!
