I don’t think it is any surprise to anyone that Wisconsin is home to some great breweries that are producing some great American craft beer. What may come as a surprise is the fact that their are some really small breweries producing some high quality products, they just don’t get the recognition like the big boys.
Lake Louie Brewing is just that kind of Wisconsin brewery: small and flying under the radar. I have now had six different flavors of beer, so I think it is safe to say that I have had a fair sampling of their beers. From that, I think it is safe for me to deduce that Lake Louie is making just as solid of brews as New Glarus, Tyranena, Central Waters, Ale Asylum, etc.
Last nights beer, Tommy’s Porter, by Lake Louie continues to follow the pattern: solid beer, with good character, and easy to drink. You can’t beat that rap sheet. A nice nutty presence in the beer was predominant in the aroma and early taste, with roasted and burnt, bitter chocolate taking over on the taste buds in the end. Possibly a little thin but that definitely added to it drinkability. Enjoy!

Useless Fact: In December 1997, the state of Nevada became the first state to pass legislation categorizing Y2K data disasters as “acts of God” protecting the state from lawsuits that may potentially be brought against it by residents in the year 2000.
